Island air taxis are a popular and convenient mode of transport throughout the Whitsunday Islands. From selected airports on the mainland and the Great Barrier Reef Airport (on Hamilton Island), island air taxis commonly take the form of a Helicopter or Seaplane. There are a couple of Whitsunday Island air taxi services, which currently and comprehensively service the islands, with fleets of modern Seaplanes and Helicopters. Arguably, inter-island air taxi transfers are the most interesting form of Whitsunday Island transportation.
