Brampton Island is located 40 km North – East of Mackay and 50 km South of Hamilton Island, at the southern entrance of the Whitsunday Island Passage. Daily flights operate too and from Mackay. The Island is ideal for, and encourages couples of all ages. It is one of the larger Islands, 770 ha of beautiful National Park which contains 11km of walks through sections of hoop pine, tropical rainforest and coastal mangroves.

One of the 7km tracks almost circumnavigates the Island and many of the tracks lead down to secluded beaches.

There are 12 beaches to choose from, 7 of which are easily accessible from the walking trails and the perfect place for a leisurely picnic. At low tide it is possible to walk out across the reef to Carlisle Island. Oyster and Dinghy bays are also perfect spots for snorkelling and enjoying the magnificent colours of the soft corals. Half day fishing trips around Brampton, Carlisle and Pelican Islands are another fine way to relax and soak up the surrounding beauty. From June to the end of August whales can be heard and seen underwater around the Islands.

The first resort on the Island was established in 1933; many of its rooms overlook the Cumberland Group of Islands and have their own patio or veranda. Sporting facilities (such as archery, volleyball, tennis, basketball, windsurfing and golf) are available. Also massage or a body wrap in the Sea Spa, or cocktails at the Aqua Bar and live evening entertainment, make this the perfect destination for the ultimate break.

Brampton Island has a year – round average temperature of 27 degrees Celsius, it has an abundance of wildlife, including kangaroos and cockatoos on land and fish, turtles, sea urchins and stingrays in the surrounding waters. Brampton Island is beautiful.
